All proceeds benefits The Salvation Army. They have been extremely busy meeting needs of those in our community during the COVID-19 crisis. The Salvation Army has been open from the beginning of the crisis to help those in need.
Their food pantry has been exceptionally demanding – they have more than tripled their monthly food distribution and have received additional food from the Central PA Food Bank and the state of PA. They were able to distribute over 500 pre-packaged meals to families, seniors and individuals each week. They have delivered monthly senior boxes (of food) to seniors throughout the community. Major(s) Donald and Paula Spencer distributed school materials and family fun boxes to children and families of program participants.
The Salvation Army – Williamsport was the regional distribution center for pre-packages meals for The Salvation Army (Lewistown, Lock Haven, Genova Shamokin, Sunbury, Pottsville). Each week 6,000 meals were distributed to Salvation Army centers.
