DESCRIPTION:THIS RACE IS CANCELLED FOR 2020 \nThe Allegheny Front Trail was established by Ralph Seeley in 1991. The trail encircles Black Moshannon State Park\, traversing 41.75 miles of the Allegheny Plateau\, some rocky and rugged\, on the way to five mountain trout streams and 11 vistas in the Moshannon State Forest. \nAFTR takes places just a few minutes drive from Black Moshannon State Park. Event options include the 50K Seneca Run (7 a.m. start)\, Half Marathon Hemlock Run (9 a.m. start). Race headquarters is at the Mid-State Regional Airport\, Terminal Building\, just 3 miles from Black Moshannon State Park\, approximately 9 miles east of Philipsburg (451 Airport Road\, Philipsburg\, PA 16866). \nThe Seneca 50K Run is a course on the AFT. Note that it is approximately 32.5 miles long. The Seneca Run is 100% trail. \nThe Hemlock Half Marathon run is a 14-mile\, 98% trail\, 93% single-track course. Runners start on a ½ mile of airport pavement\, then run on dirt/grassy road trail for a ½ mile. Both courses include aid stations/checkpoints and clear route markings

The Sprint route features an 800-yard open water swim in the Susquehanna River\, followed by a 13.7 mile bike ride and 5K run segments along paved country roads with river and mountain views. DESCRIPTION:THIS RACE IS CANCELLED FOR 2020 \nThe 5K trail run crosses mountain streams and offers mild elevation changes of approximately 250 feet on state forest trails and roads. The 10K trail run crosses mountain streams and features elevations exceeding 600 feet over rough terrain\, through mountain valleys\, and along boulder mountainsides. Both trail runs are family-friendly and guarantee amazing views of hemlock forests.  \n  \nRace Start: 10k – 8:30am     5k – 8:45am \n  \nAid stations stocked with refreshments and encouragement from cheerful volunteers are sure to refuel participants mentally and physically. Pre-run refreshments are available at packet pick-up beginning at 7:00 a.m. and a light meal will be provided post-run.  \n  \nAnyone registered by July 6\, 2020\, will receive a moisture-wicking tank (for women) or sleeveless t-shirt (for men). Awards will be provided to the top three male and female finishers.\nPrimitive camping is available. If interested in enjoying Tuscarora State Forest overnight\, call 717-536-3191 to secure a campsite.  \n  \nProceeds from the race support the Juniata County Envirothon Scholarship Fund presented to local Envirothon winners annually.
