SUMMARY:Path of The Flood Historic Races – Johnstown\, PA
DESCRIPTION:Overall Results \nAge Group Results \nThe Path of the Flood Historic Races allow runners to experience the historic 1889 Johnstown Flood in its entirety with the new 14 Mile course\, or in small droplets through the 5K or 8 Mile races. The course follows the Path of the Flood Trail\, travels through Staple Bend Tunnel – the first railroad tunnel in the United States – and finishes at Peoples Natural Gas Park where you can see the historic Stone Bridge\, still standing after stopping the majority of the flood’s energy. \nOur hybrid road/rail trail course beckons you to be a part of history once again! This year’s course adds the Trolley Line extension trail from East Conemaugh to Woodvale Heights\, eliminating the long\, arduous paved section on SR 271 that was the bane of past races. This new trail will add 0.7 miles to the two longer distances\, hence the “8 Miler” and the “14 Miler.” As we improve upon the experience each year\, all three distances will have timing mats with chip timing.  \nThis event is hosted by the Johnstown Area Heritage Association and the Cambria County Conservation & Recreation Authority – all proceeds benefit the Cambria County Trails and the heritage of the Johnstown region.

SUMMARY:Black Moshannon 5k / 10k – Philipsburg\, PA
DESCRIPTION:5k Overall Results \n5k Age Group Results \n10k Overall Results \n10k Age Group Results \nCombined 5k & 10k Results \nThe Black Moshannon 5k/10k and fun walk was started in 1980 by Mary Ann Williams. As a very good runner herself\, she directed the race for 25 years. Runners from all over Pennsylvania\, Michigan\, West Virginia\, New York\, and other states have a history of showing up in the beautiful Black Moshannon State Park every Memorial Day Weekend. After Mary Ann’s retirement from coordinating the race\, the reigns were handed over to\, the one and only\, Dave Caslow. With Dave’s guidance\, the race has continued to grow and has helped raise money to support the YMCA of Centre County and the local community. The event started as a run but has become a great Saturday morning kickoff to the Memorial Day Holiday for the entire family.

SUMMARY:Worlds End Ultramarathon – Forksville\, PA
DESCRIPTION:Overall Results \nAge Group Results \nThe Worlds End Ultramarathon is a challenging foot race that explores the Loyalsock Trail\, Loyalsock State Forest and Worlds End State Park in the Endless Mountains of Pennsylvania. The routes are largely rugged\, scenic-dense single-track trails with some fairly remote sections\, several waterfalls and multiple vistas of the beautiful Endless Mountains. This is not a beginner-level ultra and participation in the race should not be taken lightly. As John Young writes in Hike Pennsylvania\, “If you want to do some hiking in the Worlds End region\, you should know that hiking here means climbing”. \n

SUMMARY:JesVic 5k – Watsontown\, PA
DESCRIPTION:Overall Results \nAge Group Results \nThe Watsontown JesVic 5K was started in 2007 by Shannon (Hoffman) Pyles and Suzie (Wade) Watts to honor two community women\, Jessica Wade and Vicki Hitesman\, who both passed away from cancer. Jessica was a blue-eyed\, athletic 20-year-old\, a graduate of Warrior Run High School\, who pursued a college degree. Among her many goals was to run a marathon someday. \nThe other—a former nurse who touched the lives of the patients and their families from her early days at Williamsport Hospital and Kramm’s Nursing Home. She was a survivor of Hodgkin’s disease. Her youngest son played baseball\, her oldest ran cross country at Warrior Run. Vicki and her husband (who is also a runner) supported the cross-country team\, and all their sons’ endeavors. \nBoth had touched the lives of those in their community and in their workplace. We hope this race will continue that legacy. The money raised supports local families with members facing disease and struggling with the resulting medical bills. In its first 11 years\, the 5K has raised more than $50\,000 with the support of sponsor businesses\, donations\, volunteers\, runners\, walkers\, spectators and friends. The JesVic organizers\, and those supported by the funds\, are forever grateful.
