SUMMARY:Step Outdoors TRYathlon & 5K – Wellsboro\, PA
DESCRIPTION:5k Overall Results \nSolo TRYathlon Results \nTRYathlon Relay Results \nThe Step Outdoors TRYathlon\, hosted at Hills Creek State Park\, is an introductory event that is great for the novice while featuring a course that will interest the seasoned athlete. \nAs the name implies\, the focus is on “trying” rather than winning\, on camaraderie rather than competition\, on personal challenge rather than place of finish. Assemble a team of two or three people. Run\, paddle\, and bike your way to the finish! Or\, if you feel energetic\, complete all three legs of the event as a solo participant. The landscape of the park makes this a great spectator event too! \nStarting in 2015 and continuing now\, there are NO AGE CATEGORIES – all participants who finish will be recognized! \nCOURSE DESCRIPTION:\nRunning a mixture of park roads and trails around the perimeter of the lake for 5 kilometers. Paddle around temporary markers in the lake for approximately 1.75 miles. Bike on hard top and dirt roads in and around the park for 8.0 miles. All routes will remain the same as in recent years. The event includes a 5K stand-alone option. Runners will start at the same time and location as the TRYathlon participants and follow the same running course. While the event has always encouraged youth and families to participate\, now even more youth categories will be offered to reward the younger competitors in the 5K Run.

SUMMARY:The Mogadishu Mile – Lock Haven\, PA
DESCRIPTION:Overall Results \nAge Group Results \nThe Battle of Mogadishu was part of Operation Gothic Serpent fought on 3–4 October 1993\, in Mogadishu\, Somalia\, between forces of the United State and the forces of the Somali National Alliance (SNA) of south Mogadishu. The battle was part of the broader Somali Civil War that had begun 1991.  \n\nOn 3 October 1993\, Task Force Ranger\, U.S. forces under the command of MG William Garrison\, planned a mission to seize two of Aidid’s high-ranking lieutenants during a meeting deep in the city Mogadishu. \n\nThe raid was only intended to last an hour\, but morphed into an overnight fire fight and rescue operation extending into the daylight hours of 4 October 1993. \n  \n\n\nWhile the goal of the operation was achieved\, it spiraled into the deadly Battle of Mogadishu. \n\nAs the operation was ongoing\, Somali forces shot down three American UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters using RPG-7s\, with two crashing deep in hostile territory. A desperate defense of the two downed helicopters began and fighting lasted through the night to defend the survivors of the crashes. \n  \n\n\n\nIn the morning\, a UNOSOM II armored convoy fought their way to the besieged defenders and withdrew. Due to limited space in the armored vehicles\, several of the Soldier\, those were still able to move on their own\, had to move by foot with full combat gear to the safety of friendly areas. \n  \n\n\n\nCasualties included 18 dead American soldiers and 73 wounded. Estimates of Somali casualties greatly vary—with most estimates set between 315 and 2\,000. \n  \n\n\n\nThis event commemorates the sacrifice\, dedication\, and fortitude of the service members who bravely fought and died so others\, in a foreign country\, could live.
