SUMMARY:JesVic 5k - Watsontown\, PA
DESCRIPTION:Overall Results \nAge Group Results \nTeam Results \nThe Watsontown JesVic 5K was started in 2007 by Shannon (Hoffman) Pyles and Suzie (Wade) Watts to honor two community women\, Jessica Wade and Vicki Hitesman\, who both passed away from cancer. Jessica was a blue-eyed\, athletic 20-year-old\, a graduate of Warrior Run High School\, who pursued a college degree. Among her many goals was to run a marathon someday. \nThe other—a former nurse who touched the lives of the patients and their families from her early days at Williamsport Hospital and Kramm’s Nursing Home. She was a survivor of Hodgkin’s disease. Her youngest son played baseball\, her oldest ran cross country at Warrior Run. Vicki and her husband (who is also a runner) supported the cross-country team\, and all their sons’ endeavors. \nBoth had touched the lives of those in their community and in their workplace. We hope this race will continue that legacy.  The money raised supports local families with members facing disease and struggling with the resulting medical bills. In its first 11 years\, the 5K has raised more than $50\,000 with the support of sponsor businesses\, donations\, volunteers\, runners\, walkers\, spectators and friends. The JesVic organizers\, and those supported by the funds\, are forever grateful.

DESCRIPTION:5k Overall Results \n5k Age Group Results \n10k Overall Results \n10k Age Group Results \nCombined 5k & 10k Times \nThe Black Moshannon 5k/10k and fun walk was started in 1980 by Mary Ann Williams. As a very good runner herself\, she directed the race for 25 years. Runners from all over Pennsylvania\, Michigan\, West Virginia\, New York\, and other states have a history of showing up in the beautiful Black Moshannon State Park every Memorial Day Weekend. After Mary Ann’s retirement from coordinating the race\, the reigns were handed over to\, the one and only\, Dave Caslow. With Dave’s guidance\, the race has continued to grow and has helped raise money to support the YMCA of Centre County and the local community. The event started as a run but has become a great Saturday morning kickoff to the Memorial Day Holiday for the entire family.

SUMMARY:SSG Daniel K. Stein Memorial 5k / 10k - Lock Haven\, PA
DESCRIPTION:Overall Results \nAge Group Results \nFor most veterans\, the war does not end when they return home. They are physically and psychologically changed. Combat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury are debilitating\, on our veterans and their families.  Statistics estimate we lose 22 heroes per day to veteran suicide. That’s 22 senseless deaths\, 22 devastating losses\, 22 families destroyed. \nJune 3\, 2017\, after years of battling PTSD and TBI\, SSG Daniel K Stein took his own life in the family garage\, only feet away from his wife and daughter who were inside the home. \nThe Daniel K Stein Mission is dedicated to raising awareness of this crisis\, to help diminish this statistic – “One Family at a Time.” \nPlease join us as we proudly remember and honor SSG Daniel K. Stein through our second annual 5K/10K. \nThis course starts at the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge at 150 South Hanna Street in Lock Haven\, then proceeds down Creek Road\, and turns around for the 5K point. The 10K route continues down Creek Road\, to the River Levee for a short distance\, and then back that same route to end at the Moose. Following the race will be a Chicken Barbecue meal for purchase. This is a non-alcoholic family friendly event. \nPrizes will be awarded to the top 3 males and females for both routes. There will be no age group prizes. \nProceeds from this year will go toward our SSG Daniel K Stein Memorial Scholarship fund; as well as a donation to Heroes & Horses\, a non-profit organization located in Mackeyville – where veterans go to find peace through horse therapy – “Giving Hope One Veteran at a Time.”
