SUMMARY:Freedom 5k For PTSD
DESCRIPTION:Overall Results \nAge Group Results \nPenn State’s Aerospace Studies Student Organization invites you to run and/or donate to the 2nd Annual Freedom 5k for PTSD on November 12\, 2017. This event is a joint service supported philanthropic effort to raise money and awareness for PTS\, one of the leading epidemics impacting our nation’s veterans. \nOur benefactor\, Lone Survivor Foundation\, provides support for wounded service members\, their spouses\, children\, and care partners by empowering them with helpful techniques and tools addressing Post Traumatic Stress (PTS)\, mild Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI)\, Chronic Pain\, Military Sexual Trauma (MST)\, and Care Partner Stress. Lone Survivor Foundation restores\, empowers\, and renews hope for our wounded service members and their families through health\, wellness and therapeutic support. Lone Survivor Foundation is a Federal 501(c)3 non-profit founded in 2010 by Navy SEAL (Ret.) Marcus Luttrell. \nOur goal is to raise at least $10\,000 to fund an entire retreat hosted by Lone Survivor Foundation. \nThe Freedom 5K also honors the spirit of Navy SEAL Lt. Michael Murphy\, a Penn State Alumni\, who made the ultimate sacrifice for his men as part of Operation Red Wings. \nPlease register to run or donate directly to the Freedom 5k For PTSD event.

DESCRIPTION:Overall Results \nAge Group Results \nCALL OF THE WILDS 25K \nThe Pa Trail Dogs are excited to offer a new course layout for 2017. The course will be more “runner” friendly as we’re going to get back to our roots with this 25K course. The course will use the Mid State\, Spiked Buck\, Tiadaghton\, Gleason\, and of course\, the infamous Turbert Trail to keep things entertaining. \nTo reward runners after Turbert\, we’ll be sending you down one of the nicest downhill runs on the Love Run Trail and then finishing on Panther Run just like in years past. The event is open to hikers as well but please be properly trained and ready to finish in under 7 hours. \nWalkers should partake in our Little Pine 5 Miler (See info below) held in conjunction with this event. It is a great entry level course. The Finish Line of both races will be handled by Falcon Timing and we’ll have food and drink as usual. \n  \nLITTLE PINE 5-MILER \nWhat: Trail race at Little Pine State Park utilizing the Lakeshore Trail. The trail is just over 5 miles in length and offers some nice terrain for beginners. \nWhere: Little Pine State Park. 3332 Little Pine Creek Rd  Waterville\, PA 17776. \nWhen: Sunday October 22nd \nWho: Open to runners\, hikers\, and walkers alike. This is a beginners course but we welcome runners looking to burn out the lungs on this fast course. There is no time limit for this event as we encourage people of all ability levels to give it a try. \nWhy: Be part of one of the fastest growing recreation sports in the country. SUMMARY:Love Is English Memorial 5k / 10k
DESCRIPTION:Overall Results \nAge Group Results \nOn March 1\, 2013\, just fifteen miles from their destination\, the English’s met with tragedy. The family of five was hit head on\, by another car. The man dirving the other car was under the influence. Ryan and Karen\, parents to three sons\, were killed. Miraculously\, their boys\, Cullen\, Griffin and Landon\, survived the accident.\nRyan and Karen were rarely seen without their radiant smiles. They were warm\, compassionate\, genuine and lots of fun. While hope and peace can be found knowing that they are with our Lord and Savior\, their absence in the present has left a tremendous void in so many of our lives. They had a keen sense for spotting ways to minister to others and show them love\, big or small. Now we have the opportunity to pay that forward through the Love Is English Memorial 5K Run/Walk.\nPlease join us in honoring their memory and supporting their boys. All are welcome to join in this event: runners\, walkers\, friends\, family and acquaintances. Proceeds will go to the English/McWhorter Trust Fund that has been established for their surviving sons. Thank you for supporting this event!
