DESCRIPTION:Overall Results \nAge Group Results \nIn its fourth year\, the Lead the Way 5K will surprise you at every turn.  The entire event\, from planning to fundraising to volunteering the day of the race is completed by local high school juniors.  These students are enrolled in the West Shore Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Junior Leadership program\, where they gain real world skills which culminate in this fundraising event for the program.  With the guidance of the program mentors\, they execute one of the most professional events you’ll attend.   You will be greeted by a student\, registered by a student\, hear announcements from a student\, and be guided on the course by students.  The mentors will be in the background\, but the day is run by the students.  We know you’ll be amazed by these young adults.    \nNot a runner but want to support the students?  No problem.  The event is friendly for walkers\, and we offer a one mile option in addition to the 5K.  We hope to see you there!

SUMMARY:One More Day 5k
DESCRIPTION:Overall Results \nAge Group Results \nOne More Day Foundation was created to help spread awareness and teach about the growing threat to vehicle drivers and passengers. This danger has been present since the inception of the automobile. Tragedy because of this silent killer has been increasing steadily. \nThe silent killer is distracted driving. \nCell phones\, music players\, and even passengers are just some of the few sources of distraction for drivers. A distraction that lasts only 5 seconds is enough for your 4\,000 pound vehicle to travel over 100 yards – the length of a football field. A distraction can be anything such as checking a text\, finding a new song or radio station\, or even looking at a passenger. \nOne More Day Foundation 5k Walk/Run is to raise awareness of the effects of Distracted Driving This foundation was created in memory of Alicia Nicholson. A mother of two killed on February 6\, 2016\, in Cumberland County by a distracted driver that failed to stop at a four way intersection. Alicia leaves behind a husband\, and two beautiful daughters\, Aailyah 4 years old and Annbelle 2 years old. Her family created this foundation to help prevent any other family from going through a lifetime of pain and children growing up without a mother. \nAwards will be given out to the following age groups: \n12 & under\, 13-21\, 22-32\, 33-43\, 44-54\, 54 & over

SUMMARY:In Memory & To Honor SSG Daniel K. Stein 5k / 10k
DESCRIPTION:Overall Results \nAge Group Results \nStatistics show that\, on average\, every day\, 20 Veterans commit suicide after returning home. This number is far too many; it leaves families broken\, and is not a situation that Veterans and their families should ever have to endure. Our goal is to raise awareness of PTSD and TBI to diminish this statistic. \nPlease join us as we remember and honor SSG Daniel K. Stein through our first 5k/10k event. This course starts at the Family Moose Lodge at 150 South Hanna Street in Lock Haven\, then proceeds down Creek Road\, and turns around for the 5k point. The 10k route continues down Creek Road\, to the River Levee for a short distance\, and then back that same route to end at the Moose. Following the race will be a Chicken Barbeque (cash only). This is a non-alcoholic event. \nPrizes will be awarded to the top 3 males and females for both routes. There will be no age group prizes. \nThe family of Daniel K Stein\, in collaboration with Central Mountain Class of 2000\, will be hosting this event. Proceeds from this first year will go toward a scholarship for a 2019 Graduate of Central Mountain High School; as well as a donation to the Pennsylvania Wounded Warrior Project.
