SUMMARY:Black Moshannon 5k / 10k - Philipsburg\, PA
DESCRIPTION:5k Overall Results \n5k Age Group Results \n10k Overall Results \n10k Age Group Results \nCombined 5k & 10k Times \nThe Black Moshannon 5k/10k and fun walk was started in 1980 by Mary Ann Williams. As a very good runner herself\, she directed the race for 25 years. Runners from all over Pennsylvania\, Michigan\, West Virginia\, New York\, and other states have a history of showing up in the beautiful Black Moshannon State Park every Memorial Day Weekend. After Mary Ann’s retirement from coordinating the race\, the reigns were handed over to\, the one and only\, Dave Caslow. With Dave’s guidance\, the race has continued to grow and has helped raise money to support the YMCA of Centre County and the local community. The event started as a run but has become a great Saturday morning kickoff to the Memorial Day Holiday for the entire family.

SUMMARY:SSG Daniel K. Stein Memorial 5k / 10k - Lock Haven\, PA
DESCRIPTION:Overall Results \nAge Group Results \nFor most veterans\, the war does not end when they return home. They are physically and psychologically changed. Combat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury are debilitating\, on our veterans and their families.  Statistics estimate we lose 22 heroes per day to veteran suicide. That’s 22 senseless deaths\, 22 devastating losses\, 22 families destroyed. \nJune 3\, 2017\, after years of battling PTSD and TBI\, SSG Daniel K Stein took his own life in the family garage\, only feet away from his wife and daughter who were inside the home. \nThe Daniel K Stein Mission is dedicated to raising awareness of this crisis\, to help diminish this statistic – “One Family at a Time.” \nPlease join us as we proudly remember and honor SSG Daniel K. Stein through our second annual 5K/10K. \nThis course starts at the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge at 150 South Hanna Street in Lock Haven\, then proceeds down Creek Road\, and turns around for the 5K point. The 10K route continues down Creek Road\, to the River Levee for a short distance\, and then back that same route to end at the Moose. Following the race will be a Chicken Barbecue meal for purchase. This is a non-alcoholic family friendly event. \nPrizes will be awarded to the top 3 males and females for both routes. There will be no age group prizes. \nProceeds from this year will go toward our SSG Daniel K Stein Memorial Scholarship fund; as well as a donation to Heroes & Horses\, a non-profit organization located in Mackeyville – where veterans go to find peace through horse therapy – “Giving Hope One Veteran at a Time.”

SUMMARY:Mountain of Hope Trail Challenge - Mill Hall\, PA
DESCRIPTION:Overall Results \nAge Group Results \nThe Mountain of Hope Trail Challenge is back!! This event was started in 2014 and was set up to provide funds for sharing hope ministries an organization that helps out in disaster relief areas. After skipping the last 2 years it is under new leadership and we hope to make this an annual event. This race is run on private ground and we will be using the same trails that were used 2 years ago. For all you who have never run this race please come prepared for a challenge. The event will be held at the Amish school house located along Beagle Rd. \n  \nThe half marathon starts with about a mile of gradual uphill on a gravel lane. It will then be run on old logging roads and single track trails that are very steep and rocky in some places. After running about 5 miles of uphill you will run across a boulder field and then come to the top of the mountain. You will then run about 3 miles along the top which will give several scenic views of the farmlands of East Nittany Valley before winding back down to the finish line. There will be a water stop at approx. mile 3\, an aid station at mile 5\, another aid station at mile 8\, and one more water stop at mile 11. There is a 5 hour cutoff at the second aid station which still gives you about 8 hours to do the whole course so this makes it very hiker friendly. \n  \nThe 5k will run on some of the same trails as the half. It will have about 1 mile of uphill before circling back to the finish line. It will have 1 water stop at the halfway mark. \n  \nPost race\nA meal of BBQ pork sandwiches and sides will be provided for all participants. Food for family and friends of the runners will be free of charge although donations will be greatly appreciated. All proceeds will benefit Sharing Hope Ministries. (sharinghopeministries.com)

Helping others was Bobby’s passion. Bobby will be forever missed and the community will never forget the love and support he had for his fellow firemen and first responders. \n  \nVolunteer Fire Companies require training to stay current with the latest technology.
